“The Heart visual metaphorically depicts ‘hearts are coarsening these days’ but still holding light at their center. It represents the real struggle between keeping the outside from corroding the inside so to speak.

about

Muddy Ruckus Portland, Maine

Muddy Ruckus is an alternative rock duo of “darkly inventive americana” according to the New York Music Daily. Guitarist Ryan Flaherty and drummer Erika Stahl of Portland, Maine play a grungy style of railroad indie punk blues. This stripped-down power-duo blends rootsy guitar and edgy percussion on a suitcase drum kit, and is known for a full rock band sound. ... more

Track Name: Awakening Enkindled
You’ve been meddling with spirits,
You’ve been juggling with our pain
Like a sorcerer incarnate without form to pave the way
Innocence no longer trembles for the reckoning of dismay
As our voices turn to dust that pave the way

Awakening enkindled forge the river burning brine
Resolution impregnated with a backward paradigm
Averse to constitution that was born into the minds
Of emancipated truths and oversight

Unworthy of this world, surrendering to lies
Fallen from the tree, lamenting our demise
a million second chances that we cast into the fire
Smoldering in vacant compromise

Bewildered messengers and spectators of the feud
Baffled and confused to raise their arms and shield the truth
Prophecy has told us we endure the end of all
To deny and suffer, we all learn by heart

Unworthy of this world, surrendering to lies
Fallen from the tree, lamenting our demise
a million second chances that we cast into the fire
smoldering in vacant compromise

There’s a worn out joy suspended in the memories we bear
And the ever present shame for what tomorrow we have birthed
For the ones that bear the future , I am filled with true remorse
As our voices turn to dust and pave the course
Track Name: Runnin' Outta Sound
To be wandering on broken days
and be swallowed by the smoke of your careless ways
Stumbling down and try to reach the pain
With a dagger in my love you know
the pain will never feel the same

Slowing down the body falls apart
I don’t know about the light,
Try to sleep without the dark and we’ll see
So hard to know and close your eyes to be
These are truly troubled times and everybody’s got to bleed

Ive been thinking bout the world gone wrong
I’ve been thinking about leaving town
I’ve been singing an empty song
And these words are runnin’ outta sound

Iv’e been thinking bout the world gone wrong
and I find myself singing the same damn song
Roll me over on history
Try to focus on what I see

Lets consider the realities
It ain’t easy when your eyes build a wall around all you see
It’s too simple to pick up the key
and you turn around the truth like a steadfast philistine
In the light of a latrine of a fortress thin
I cast stones at the prison walls holding my goddess in
There ain’t a man that can save you now
For a thousand years wept, we could have tried harder, somehow

Ive been thinking bout the world gone wrong
I’ve been thinking about leaving town
I’ve been singing an empty song
And these words are runnin’ outta sound

Iv’e been thinking bout the world gone wrong
and I find myself singing the same damn song
Roll me over on history
Try to focus on what I see
